We’re excited to share several key updates added to the OWOX Reports extension in recent weeks. These changes, based on valuable feedback from our users, aim to improve the user experience by saving time and reducing effort when working with data in Google Sheets. Here's what’s new:
New Dedicated Button for Creating a Data Mart
Introducing a dedicated button has made adding a new Data Mart even easier.
This new feature makes creating a Data Mart more visible and accessible, especially for new users. Now, after selecting your project, you don’t need to navigate through a dropdown list to create a new Data Mart — click the button below the list, and the Data Mart editor window will open immediately.
Version Number Added to the Extension Menu
The version number of the OWOX Reports extension is now displayed in the context menu, which can be accessed by clicking the footer icon. This update helps users quickly check if they have the latest version of the extension, ensuring they stay up to date with improvements and fixes.
Improved Share Data Marts Feature
We’ve updated the Share tab in the Data Mart editor to make it easier to understand and use, especially when the Data Mart hasn’t been saved yet. The tab is no longer disabled, allowing users to view its content and get clear instructions on how the feature works, without any confusion.
OWOX Reports Now Available in Workspace
OWOX Reports is now listed on the Workspace page, allowing users of Pipelines, Streaming, and Transformation to quickly install the extension and start building reports in Google Sheets using data from BigQuery. New users who start a trial will also have the option to explore and install the extension from the official Google marketplace.
Additional Enhancements and Fixes
Pie Chart Formula Update
We've fixed the formula for Pie charts in the Pivots & Charts feature to ensure percentages are calculated correctly when the (other) grouping appears on the chart.
Data Mart Deletion Process
The process of deleting a Data Mart has been improved to prevent accidental data loss. Now, before the Data Mart is permanently deleted, a confirmation window appears to ensure users are certain of their actions. Once confirmed, the Data Mart is deleted, and the Data Mart editor window closes automatically, making it easier to select a new project or create a new Data Mart.
