Today, we are thrilled to announce the launch of the Fully-managed Google Ads → Google BigQuery pipeline, a feature highly requested by our clients. Now, in any OWOX BI project, you can independently create and configure this pipeline directly through the OWOX BI interface. For a quick and straightforward setup, you simply need access to a Google Ads account (with 'Read only', 'Standard', or 'Admin' level access) and BigQuery access as either a BigQuery Admin or BigQuery Data Owner.

26 data tables with 954 fields from Google Ads

With the newly launched Google Ads → BigQuery pipeline, you now have access to an extensive array of data across 26 tables. This includes detailed information about campaigns, ad groups, accounts, account performance, clicks and views, keywords, topics, geographic data, shopping performance, and more. The full list of tables and fields can be reviewed during the pipeline setup or in our detailed article.

During the pipeline configuration, you can select only the tables you need, enabling you to avoid importing unnecessary data into your storage. The OWOX BI Pipeline is designed for maximum flexibility and optimization, helping to minimize the costs associated with storing large volumes of data.

Setting up the pipeline in 1 minute

Configuring the Google Ads → BigQuery pipeline is incredibly straightforward and quick, involving just two primary steps: granting access to your Google Ads account and selecting the BigQuery dataset for data import. This streamlined setup process ensures that any OWOX BI user with the required access can configure the pipeline in less than a minute. To assist you further, we've prepared a detailed step-by-step guide to facilitate the setup of this pipeline.

Importing historical data

After configuring the pipeline, you no longer need to wait for a scheduled import to start. You can manually initiate the import of historical data from the last 90 days, and your data will be available in BigQuery just a few minutes after the import completes successfully.

At OWOX BI, we've developed an advanced import system that significantly accelerates the process, allowing you to build reports on the most actual data even faster. For more details on how to manually start data imports, read this article.

Flexible scheduling for data import

In each pipeline, you can configure a Time trigger with options for daily, weekly (choosing specific days of the week), or monthly (selecting specific days of the month) runs. Additionally, you can specify the exact start time down to the minute in any timezone!

Such flexibility ensures that you have the most actual data available before any important event, like a weekly presentation or a meeting with management. Learn more about scheduling automatic data imports in this article.

Managing the Refresh window

Every analyst and marketer has faced the issue of data refreshes in advertising sources; for example, data for January 1st might be clarified and updated on January 10th. How to stay informed? How to access these updated figures? The OWOX BI Pipeline features a Refresh window that allows you to retrieve refined data from up to 30 days in the past.

For instance, running the pipeline with a Refresh window set to 30 days on January 30th will automatically update the data for the entire month of January. It's convenient, fast, and extremely useful! For more information about this feature, read this article.
