With this release, we've implemented default settings that secure OWOX BI Access points from being indexed by search crawlers. This proactive measure is designed to prevent errors in website indexing reports, ensuring your site is recognized as fully functional by search engines.
Introducing default ‘robots.txt’ settings
To achieve this, we've introduced default ‘robots.txt’ settings for OWOX BI Access points, the vital components for collecting user behavior data on your website. The ‘robots.txt’ file now contains the following rules:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /This means that search crawlers are explicitly instructed not to index the OWOX BI Access point's domain (e.g., owox.{customer.domain}, streaming.bi.owox.com, or google-analytics.bi.owox.com), preventing any potential errors in indexing reports, especially in platforms like Google Search Console.
For existing users, we've already taken care of the transition. The ‘robots.txt' file has been automatically applied to all previously created domains. Moreover, going forward, this protection will be automatically extended to all new OWOX BI Access points.
