November 1, 2017 — OWOX BI: changes in the calculation of the number of unique users in the project

While billing for the usage of OWOX BI products, we used to take into account the size of the clients' businesses, defined by the number of unique users in the Google Analytics to Google BigQuery data pipeline.

However, the size of the business can't be defined only with one pipeline type.

From now on, while calculating the number of unique users, we also take into account the pipelines from AppsFlyer, SendGrid, SparkPost, Mandrill and UniOne to Google BigQuery and also Google BigQuery Export for Google Analytics 360, while using OWOX BI Attribution and OWOX BI Smart Data.

Knowing that we don't have a single key to calculate a total number of unique users across all active pipelines, we calculate the number of unique users in each pipeline. We use for billing the pipeline with the greatest number of unique users.

A few examples

  1. You have the following pipelines in your project:

Google Analytics Real-Time Data → Google BigQuery

100,000 unique users per month

Mandrill → BigQuery

10,000  unique users per month

Google BigQuery Export for Google Analytics 360

100,050 unique users per month

In this case, the data for the Google Analytics 360 → Google BigQuery pipeline will be used for billing.

2. You have the following pipelines in your project:

Google Analytics Real-Time Data → Google BigQuery

100,000 unique users per month

AppsFlyer →  Google BigQuery

90,000 unique users per month

In this case, the data for the Google Analytics Real-Time Data → Google BigQuery pipeline will be used for billing.
