What is a Refresh Window?

A Refresh Window for historical data is a period, measured in days, during which the pipeline will update historical data at every scheduled run. For example, if you set the Refresh Window to 30 days and run the pipeline on January 30th, it will refresh data from January 30th to January 1st. The Refresh Window helps you get up-to-date cost data, even if Google Ads has made changes to it in the past.

How to Change the Refresh Window

Once a pipeline is activated, the Refresh Window cannot be changed. If you need to adjust it, you must create a new pipeline and specify the desired number of days during its setup.

Maximum Duration for the Refresh Window

The maximum duration you can set for a Refresh Window, specifically for the Google Ads → Google BigQuery pipeline, is 30 days. This limit is set to ensure optimal performance and reliability in updating historical data.

Does the Refresh Window Differ Between Manual and Scheduled Runs?

The Refresh Window applies only to scheduled runs. This means that after setting up a schedule with a Time trigger, the pipeline will update data from one day ago on the first day, two days ago on the second day, and so on. On the 31st day, your pipeline will update the past 30 days of data. For subsequent days, it will continue to update data from the past 30 days (if Refresh Window = 30 days).
